FOGGY START, PLUS COOLING HEADED OUR WAY

It was a very foggy start across South Florida and thankfully the sun helped it lift. However, we will now focus on the cooling headed our way with two cold fronts set to move in through the region. The first front arrives tonight helping temperatures get closer to average with lows in the upper 60’s to low 70’s and highs in the low 80’s. Humidity levels drop making it feel wonderful on Tuesday! Second front will bring a push of cooler air on Wednesday and having us sport around sweaters South Florida style. Lows in the low 60’s with a few spots in the upper 50’s around inland areas. High will get into the 70’s throughout the day. The coolest morning will be on Thursday with lows in the widespread 50’s around mainland South Florida and highs in the low 70’s. Police investigating South Miami-Dade neighborhood after son fatally shoots father

Miami-Dade Police officers rushed to a South Miami-Dade neighborhood after a man fatally shot his father following a dispute. Law enforcement was at the scene near 161st Court and 297th Terrace just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday.According to a Miami-Dade Police Information Officer, when authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered a man with gunshot wounds. Residents in the area were shaken by the sound of approximately 10 shots. One eyewitness, who was with friends in his backyard, described the alarming moment. “We heard about like 10 shots go off,” he said. “We ran inside, saw a little bit of smoke going up in the air, and in about 10 minutes, the cops were here.”By 4:30 a.m. Monday, Crime Scene Investigation units were deployed to a residence, where authorities were observed entering and exiting.Moments after detectives arrived, 7News crews captured law enforcement holding a gun as they marked it as evidence. Catalan amnesty law ‘in line’ with EU values, Spain’s justice minister says

BRUSSELS — The Spanish government plans to use a contested law granting amnesty to Catalan separatists to quell the independence conflict, Justice and Presidency Minister Félix Bolaños told POLITICO.“If in Brussels the feeling is that the Catalan issue had almost been forgotten, it is precisely thanks to the policies of the government of [Prime Minister] Pedro Sánchez … to tackle with politics, with dialogue, with courage the issue,” Bolaños said in an interview with Brussels Playbook during a trip to Brussels last week.Now, Bolaños added, “we want to take the definitive step for this new stage in Catalonia.”In November, Sánchez’s Socialist Party filed a bill granting blanket amnesty to all those who have been prosecuted for their involvement with the pro-Catalan independence movement since 2012. ‘Leaning tower’ in Italy on ‘high alert’ for collapse

(CNN) — It’s the ‘leaning tower’ that has stood tipsily – but steadily – for nearly 1,000 years. But now, the days of the Garisenda tower in Bologna, Italy, could be numbered. Following investigations last month, the city is instigating a civil protection plan for the “sudden and unexpected collapse of the tower,” which has dominated the Bologna skyline since the 12th century.A protective metal cordon will be erected to “contain debris resulting from a possible collapse, to reduce the vulnerability of surrounding buildings and the exposure to the population, as well as blocking access to the off-limits area,” the city council said in a statement.The cordon will be fixed into the ground, and will include specially designed rockfall protection nets, also made of metal and also anchored to the ground.The warning of a possible collapse was issued in a 27-page report, shared with CNN, by the scientific committee which has monitored the site since 2019.It puts the site on “high ...

Boston Police responded to a shooting on Clifford Street in Roxbury Monday morning.Just before 4 a.m. officers received notice of a ShotSpotter activation for six rounds in the area.Upon arrival, officers located one adult male suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. China’s Xi welcomes President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus to Beijing
